LEGANES HISTORY

Hailing from the Madrid rural areas, Club Deportivo Leganes were established in 1928 and never ascended higher than the third level until 1992, when they won advancement to the Segunda Division without precedent for their history.

Argentine manager Daniel Grinbank purchased Leganes in 2003, which saw Colombia supervisor Jose Pekerman selected brandishing chief, yet he deserted the club halfway through the accompanying season, bringing about them dropping again into Segunda B.

Notwithstanding, the entry of Asier Garitano in 2013 set the side up for the hotshot as they came back to the second level a year later and lined that up with a noteworthy advancement to La Liga in 2016. Even better, Lega remained up on their lady, top-flight voyage.

Leganes' moniker is Los Pepineros, which means 'cucumber producers', because of the town of Leganes once being a horticultural town and an eminent wellspring of cucumbers.
