LEVANTE HISTORY



Levante Union Deportiva was established in 1909 as Levante Futbol Club and takes its name from the "levante" wind that blows into Valencia close to where the club's base camp was at first found.

After its ground was obliterated amid the Spanish Civil War, Levante converged with neighbors Gimnastico and in 1941 moved toward becoming Levante Union Deportiva, with the present club hues dating from that period and the "azulgrana" home pack initially that of Gimnastico.
